Bree and Yertle

So everyone has been telling me that Bree is going to have me wrapped around her little finger and I'll be buying her the farm before she's even one.  Well, just to let you in on a little secret, I'm not the one that's going to break the bank on Bree....it's her mother.  Case in point, let's go back to our return trip from SC where we are sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to leave.  I'm content just to relax in the airport and wait for the plane to leave.  But Amy decides to take Miss Bree through the little store that they have and finds a toy that Bree likes.  In this case it happens to be a stuffed turtle with South Carolina written on its belly.  Now Amy, not Bree, is trying to give me the puppy dog eyes so that I'll buy this toy for Bree (of course Amy could buy it herself but she prefers a joint decision).  I'm at first quite reluctant as we already have a ton of toys for Bree back home, but eventually I relent and we end up buying it for her.  The whole time I'm saying that as soon as we get home Bree's going to forget all about the turtle and never play with it again just like she's done with many of her other toys that were exciting for like a day.  Amy of course said I didn't know what I was talking about and insisted that we name the turtle.  I, being a big Dr Seuss fan, suggested Yertle and it stuck.

 

 

 

Boy was I ever wrong about Bree though.  Yertle is like her best friend.  Many of her other toys will get boring to her and she'll chuck them to the curb, but not Yertle.  When Yertle isn't being cleaned due to the constant volume of slobber from Bree that covers him on a regular basis, Bree will not let go of him.  He goes everywhere with her, even when she's playing with another toy she'll only let go with one hand!  Needless to say Amy was right and it was probably the best 10 bucks we've spent on her.
