New Milestone....ARMY CRAWLING!!!!
Here's the scenario....Jason has to work one Saturday of the entire year, it's the day before Mother's Day, and Bree and I are playing on the ground. At first I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Bree was rolling around on the floor, moving towards specific toys that she wanted to play with. I started noticing something slightly different about the way she was moving towards her toys. It almost looked like she was pushing with her feet instead of rolling. I then decided that this wasn't actual crawling and that my eyes were playing tricks on me. Several minutes later, she did it again, but this time the act had no rolling involved. She crawled to her toy (aka the laptop)!!! It was an army crawl where she used her elbows and forearms along with push-offs from her feet, but sure enough she was crawling. I grabbed the camera and put it on the video setting to tape this moment. Bree's first crawl...the day before Mother's Day, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at just over 9 months of age!! As I was filming her and cheering her on, I noticed that I was starting to tear up. Didn't really expect to do that, but something about seeing her reach this milestone got me choked up. She was actually moving with a purpose. I felt so proud of her!! Now of course my second thought was to notify the world...problem was nobody that I could notify was around to skype or see it. Jason was at work and was unable to come home, my parents were visiting my grandmother and couldn't skype, and my best friend wasn't picking up her phone. The hours before Jason got home seemed torturous.....Bree just did this most amazing thing and I could only celebrate it with her! Thankfully, the next day we celebrating Mother's Day with a picnic at my Aunt and Uncle's house, so we could share Bree's new milestone with family members! What a treat for me to be able to see her first time crawling...I loved every moment of it!
