When I was getting the baby blues and was thinking that "everybody" around me was getting pregnant and having babies, Jason and I started a new tradition to celebrate mother's day and father's day in reference to our two fur babies (Ohana and Peanut), then a year later, we got pregnant with Bree and started celebrating our mother's day to-be and father's day to-be. Now a year later, I'm getting to celebrated my first "real" mother's day since the birth of baby Bree! What a treat! Jason surprised me with an early mother's day present for a wonderful mani/pedi prior to our vacation to South Carolina, that way my toes would be looking all cute in my flip flops on the beach sand. On top of that, he found an excellent company that creates quilts out of your old t-shirts. I had been mentioning this idea for about a year, but never got around to looking into what it would take to make a t-shirt quilt and since I'm not crafty in the quilting department, my idea when unmoved. Now, thanks to Jason and Bree, I have a beautiful t-shirt quilt that is displayed on our bedroom wall. Jason also found a website that will allow you to create a board book using your own pictures and words. He worked with Bree (turns out Bree was fussy during most the collaboration and required naps while Jason worked on the gift), to create a board book that details our trip to South Carolina. He even got the narrative to rhyme, super cute! Bree's daycare worked with her to create a cute poem about moms and gave her a beautiful flower to give to me as a mother's day gift.
We spent the day visiting family at a mother's day picnic and cookout. Since Bree just started crawling the day before, she was able to show off her new skills at the cookout. Bree played with her two cousins, Morgan and Emma, outside and seemed to really enjoy herself. We had so much fun visiting with family, catching up, and celebrating the moms out there. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!!!!
