Now that Miss. Bree is 3 months old (hard to believe), she has grown into her own little person, who likes playing games. I still find it amazing to watch her play and mimic the people around her. She's smiling a lot more and we even have her first recorded giggle (of course, I'm sure it will be awhile before I'm able to film that one!). Jason and I had been watching her for weeks and every once in awhile a small little giggle-like sound would escape Bree. We both looked at each other in question, then shook our heads no, thinking that it was too early for a real laugh. After a quick google search, I found that many babies laugh around 3-6 months, so it is quite possible that what we heard was a real giggle. Last Tuesday, I took Bree into the office to meet my co-workers. While she was saying hi to my supervisor, Bree broke out in a huge smile and again the giggle sound. This one was much more noticeable, so we're recording that Bree first laughed on Tuesday, November 8th, which would make her just over 3 months old. It's not the huge belly laugh that babies are known for (that will come with time), but for now, we've got the little giggle-like sounds coming from our little princess! Other new games that Bree has enjoyed are blowing raspberries, playing in her bouncer with a birdie rattle that my parents got her, and laying on her play mat on her back and playing with a hanging giraffe. She is definitely beginning to open and close her hands more. She loves sticking her hand in her mouth as a self-soothing technique. We could never seem to get her to latch onto the pacifiers....looks like she'll be a thumb/finger sucker. And within the last few days, she's beginning to pull her legs up while she's playing (like a mini-crunch). Bree is such a happy baby in the mornings. She loves to pull her legs up, smile, and blow bubbles while I'm getting her bottle ready and getting her changed into her morning clothes. It's going to be a tough one letting her go while I go back to work.
