Easter Bunny Is Coming to Town

Here we are in April celebrating Bree's 1st Easter!! I can't believe all these firsts are happening...the year seems to be flying by. Along with pictures from Easter, I'm also going to add some pictures from the weeks in between St. Patty's Day and Easter (months 7 and 8). After receiving a quick drop by visit from Jason's father (Bree's Grandpop the weekend or so before Easter), it was time to celebrate Easter. A few weeks prior, Jason, Bree, and I were shopping in Target and I immediately found a pair of Easter bunny ears (headband) in the 99 cent section. It was a rainy day (actually pouring), so Jason dropped me and Bree off at the front of the store and drove around to find a spot. I put the ears on Bree and wanted for him to come into the store. The sight of Bree in these giant Easter bunny ears got both of us, along with some other customers, laughing...so we bought them. Bree's not too fond of them anymore, but it was cute while it lasted. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to take Bree to see the Easter Bunny, but he was nice enough to stop by our house anyway. Each one of us, include the cats, got a small Easter basket. Bree's mainly consisted of some toys and baby food (yumm). She'll have to ask the Easter Bunny for some chocolate once she gets older :) Jason and I completed our tradition of Easter egg hunts (too hard for little kids), where we each get a specific amount of eggs and time to hide. Jason gets one floor of the house and I get the other. We then race to see who can find the most amount of eggs in a specific time period. We started this game several years ago while we lived in LA and have continued it ever since. Our Easter egg hunts are pretty difficult and often end with the other person helping to find all the Easter Eggs. I cried "fowl" this year as we only hide 2 real Easter eggs each (the rest are the plastic ones). The only rule for the real eggs is that they have to be in a visible location (mainly so we don't lose real eggs only to have them rot in our house). Jason decided that he was going to hide one of his real eggs inside a cookie tin that was placed on the counter from the night before. He thinks it was visible, I say no way since the cookie tin was sealed and was not see-through. We may have a cheater on our hands. We then did a smaller, age-appropriate Easter egg hunt for Bree (one egg was in her car seat, one half hidden by a blanket, and one on her play-mat). I walked Bree around the living room until we found all 3 of her eggs. After spending the morning at our place, we then drove to New Fairfield where my grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins are. We had Easter lunch/dinner with them. I had planned to get some pictures of Bree all dressed up, but she decided she wanted to spit up on all three of her outfits. Next time. It was cute seeing Bree and her cousin Stella play together. Bree was trying new behaviors that are too advanced for her and Stella regressed in some of her behaviors. I can't wait to see these two grow up and become playmates! Happy Easter, everyone!!!
