Having fun with baby Bree

As many of you know, baby Bree is just like many other newborns, she eats, sleeps, poops, stares, and cries. As Jason quickly learned, most of the "playing" we do with Bree is more for us than for her. I think he's anxious to interact with her in more of a reciprocal play manner. But nonetheless, we have been having a great time learning about and playing with Bree, even if play time is just for the grown-ups.

One of the first ways Jason and I started playing with Bree was to come up with various nicknames for her. So we have the obvious nickname of Bree or Bria (which Jason doesn't like, but I think is pretty). Then we went on to creating names that uses more imagination. Those have included: ET neck, turkey neck, pumpkin head, monkey toes, monkey feet, poopie pants, stinky butt, baby bird, bug-a-boo, and Jason's favorite, lumpy. Jason's nickname of lumpy has inspired a daddy/daughter dance called "lumpin," a baby version of "krumpin" a style of dance typically seen on the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance."

Other games that we've created with Bree include: nursing on daddy's nose, sticking out your tongue at mommy, making weird faces, taking walks, reading, and dressing up as a pirate! Like I said, most of these, scratch that, make it all of these games were created to make mommy and daddy laugh. I wonder if Bree will see the humor in these games when she is 16 and sees this blog...probably not, huh?! :)

 Arrrr...I'm a pirate!

Bree and Daddy preparing for the Lumpin dance...Bree's not happy with Daddy's partnering skills!

 Daddy's so silly!

 It's a bottle...no, wait, it's just Daddy's nose!

What are you doing to me???
