The list is as follows (in no particular order):
| Name | Origin | Meaning | ||
| Chase | English | The hunter | ||
| Silas | Latin | Of the forest | ||
| Kai | Finnish/Hawaiian | Rejoice/Ocean | ||
| Keegan | Gaelic | Son of Fire |
We could really use some help narrowing down our list. Jason's top choice is Silas with Kai and Keegan in the middle, and Chase at the bottom. And of course to complicate matters, my top choice is Chase with Kai and Keegan in the middle and Silas at the bottom. Good thing we've got another 11 weeks to figure this out. As it stands now, we'd have to throw the names in a hat and pull or allow the nurse to name our baby! Of course, in my opinion, this means that we're going to have a baby girl since we've spent so many hours on this topic. Jason, of course, disagrees! :)
Since Eli is gone, I have to go with Silas and then Keegan. I have to tell you that there were two babies named Chase in the paper last week.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is Chase Keegan. Easy to spell and remember. Different but not odd enough to be made fun of...please understand that I base this on my classroom observations in years past. Amy, you're probably right. After all this deliberation over a boy's name, the baby will be a girl! But that wouldn't be such a bad thing either:)
ReplyDeleteKai is my least favorite. I have a coworker (female) named Kai and it doesn't go well with the middle name you guys want and sounds the least good with Billings.
ReplyDeleteSilas makes me think of Silas Marner - a miser. If he reads that in school he'll be made fun of.
My first vote is Chase, then Keegan.
You guys are so cute! I like Chase and Silas the best...probably Chase a little more than Silas. If you guys are looking for most unique I'd go with Silas. Kai and other forms of Kai -- like Kaiya -- are becoming quite popular.
ReplyDeleteDerek votes Chase or Kai.
Good luck! It's such a complicated process :)
